I’ve been working on the website for Oliv You & Me for quite some time now and today it goes live! Oliv You & Me is a specialty shop in Boulder Colorado that features a variety of extra virgin olive oils, vinegars, dried pastas, sauce and olives. Make sure to check out the wonderfully designed website (shameless plug) and check out her shop if you are in the area.

Every weekend I will be going through my film archives and picking out a photo or two embodying “Americana” to post up here on the Blog. This one is a picture of the girlfriend taken on a Canon AE-1. More from the series can be seen at my Flickr page.

Animation from Vimeo

“8, 16, tape” was created to explore the ways that we are recorded in our lives. The title refers to the mediums in which we are able to be filmed.

In the first half of the movie, we see a child being presented to the camera repeatedly so that important moments are able to be caught for the first time. Also to note: the animation is both shaky and uneasy during this time, playing off the idea of newness and infancy versus the second half of the movie.

The latter half allows the subject to mature a bit in which moments are captured instead of just presented to the camera. The final shot with the old man represents the last grasps we attempt to record the elderly, even if just for a short glimpse.

New Site Now Live!

Welcome to the new website! There is some pretty exciting stuff for you to check out: the work and play pages have some great projects to check out, and I’d love to hear from you on our contact page. (Plus if you happen to be running Netscape 4.0 and the site looks strange, we would like to hear about that as well). We’ll be updating this blog regularly with new projects and links to our favorites around the web.

-Andy
